Kybella

No longer does one have to go under the knife and endure a long post surgery recovery period as new, less invasive techniques, offer less expensive alternatives, with outstanding results.  Results which can be achieved with as these procedures require little or no downtime and can be done during one’s lunch break with requiring a single in office visit.

Our current favorites are the innovative, new non-surgical ThermiRF treatments. ThermiTight reduces fat, wrinkles, tightens and improves skin tone and texture.  Yes, one procedure provides all of those results, with 0 downtime, and takes about an hour to perform. We told you it was a game-changer.

On April 29th, 2015 the FDA approved Kybella™, for the reduction of moderate to severe fat deposits under the chin.  The active ingredient, Deoxycholic acid, is a molecule which naturally occurs in the human body, assisting the body in the breakdown and reabsorption of dietary fat.

When injected into targeted fat pockets under the chin, Kybella, destroys the fat cells which are absorbed by the body’s natural metabolic process.  It also prevents future re-accumulation of fat cells in that area.

Naturally, the appeal of being able to reduce fat with injections has created a prominent craze for this treatment

Kybella Treatment

Like most non invasive treatments, results from Kybella may require more than one treatment to produce desirable results.  Most patients experience visible results within two to four treatment sessions and up to 6 treatments may be administered.   Treatments are performed 4 to 8 weeks apart.  Because each person is unique, a custom treatment plan is tailored for each individual patient.

How long will results last?

As mentioned above, re-treatment is not expected.  However, as we age the skin and other tissues of the neck undergo changes.   Though the treated fat cells are removed and replaced by collagen, a small amount is left behind.  If you gain a great deal of weight after treatment, the remaining fat cells may expand and the submental fullness may re-appear.
